F-16 jet crashes in South Korea

An F-16 fighter jet crashed in South Korea on Monday during a routine training flight and the pilot was rescued after ejecting during an “in-flight emergency,” according to a U.S. Air Force unit stationed there.

According to the 8th Fighter Wing, the pilot was rescued by the South Korean Coast Guard in the Yellow Sea and returned to Kunsan Air Base.

It said the cause of the emergency was being investigated.
